Angeline and Sebastian at Temple Emanu El, San Francisco 3.18.10
Posted by genekosoy in UncategorizedI love Thursday weddings! This is by far the closest I’ve ever been booked; exactly a week before the wedding. I honestly did not know what to expect from this small wedding at Temple Emanu El in San Francisco. This experience really changed the way I see small ceremonies, and it was truly unforgettable. When Angeline first called me, she had not yet seen my work and was just shopping around to see who fit within her budget. It was a very typical conversation where I told her to go see my work first so she can see if she loves it or hates it. An hour later I received a really warm text message followed by an email, telling me how much her and Sebastian loved my work. They went to the end of my blog, and ran out of images to look at. That’s when I knew they were the right couple for me. It was even further reinforced when I first met them at Samovar, and immediately felt their love and commitment to one another. Needless to say, they booked me on the spot. The ceremony was very intimate, with parents from both sides, groom’s little brother and a just a couple of friends. Everyone in the family was under the chuppah, holding hands. Rabi Jaffe played the guitar and had a sense of humor throughout the ceremony. Afterward, the family joined Sebastian and Angeline for their photoshoot at Lands End and Legion of Honor. At the Legion of Honor there was a musician playing classical and Latin guitar. I was hooked on the sound, and so we moved the photoshoot to the music. I was inspired by last week’s Allie and Jenny’s shoot with the Jazz musicians, so I took some shots with Leo subtly in the background. Afterward I had a chance to chat with Leo, and learned that he is a wedding musician. I used Leo’s music in the slideshow. He is one cool dude, and if you need a great musician look him up on Facebook at www.tleoking.com What was remarkable about this wedding was how warm and inviting Angeline and Sebastian were from the very first meeting. They treated me like a friend at the wedding and invited me and my date to the private reception dinner. It was an amazing dinner, and really great company. Really great couple, and I wish them the best in their long life together!
