Kim and Mike’s San Francisco Wedding

September brought the union of a fantastic couple, Kim & Mike. The ceremony was held at the historic Swedenborgian Church of San Francisco in the Pacific Heights neighborhood. The church has been designated a National Historic Landmark, and with it’s amazing architecture and decorative stained glass, it was the perfect romantic setting for a wedding.

After the ceremony, we did an exclusive shoot with the newlyweds at Crissy Field in the Presidio of San Francisco. With such a joyous couple as the subjects and the Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge as a backdrop, my job as a photographer was made easy.

The reception was held at the InterContinental Mark Hopkins Hotel at the crest of San Francisco’s Nob Hill. Bay Area Alma Desnuda provide their acoustic grooves to set the mood for celebration. Because Mike works for a local wine distributor, there was an abundant flow of exquisite wine at the reception. Congrats Mike and Kim!

Molly and Alex at Mt. Diablo State Park

Wow, it has been a long while since my last post on the blog. It has been a busy year, between destination and local weddings. Anyhow, I want to share photos I took of Alex and Molly. Molly and Alex got married a year ago, and wanted to hop back in their wedding outfits for a shoot on the beautiful Mount Diablo. This was not a trash the dress session, however, the dress along with my socks,picked up some grass and ticks attached. The shoot took us to the top of the mountain, and brought us down into a beautiful valley for a stunning sunset. The champagne toast shots were priceless. Very fun couple to work with, enjoy the photos.

Holly and Ian’s Engagement Shoot

Holly and Ian are this cute couple that found me on Google. They were getting married in a few weeks and wanted some fun creative shots around the city. We had a great time in Golden Gate Park, China Town, and North Beach. Afterward we went to grab some dinner and had the idea of going ice-skating. If they weren’t such a nice couple I probably would have left once we go to the rink, since it was freezing cold and the line was around the block. It didn’t take much to convince myself to stay, and I am glad I did. Here are some highlights from this 6 hour shoot.

Sand Rock Farm Wedding – Meghan and Joe

When I met Meghan and Joe back in Spring, I knew that their wedding was going to be something special. Their venue choice and their easy going attitude made me excited all the way to their wedding day. The amount of detail and work that went into every aspect of the wedding is exceptional. The venue itself is gorgeous, with an impressive redwood grove for the ceremony. The reception had two elevated stages that were the perfect settings for the food buffet and the desert bar. The old wine cellar ruins was the perfect spot for the cocktail hour and dancing. One of my favorite shots included the guitarist, Jay Alvarez. He played a Spanish song, “Ojala”, during the reception and first dance. Meghan and Joe met in Argentina, and the song is symbolic for them. Putting Jay with his guitar in the background tied in their special song into imagery. All the vendors were fantastic to work with. I am honored that Joe and Meghan trusted me with their special day.

Meghan and Joe’s Engagement Session August 29th, 2010

I am so lucky to have such amazing couples to blog about. Meghan and Joe are an amazing couple that are an absolute pleasure to work with. Their wardrobe change, and the choice in venues made for a fantastic shoot. For this shoot we went around Oakland where they live. Oakland is a pleasant place to shoot photos in, and the fact that its not as crowded as San Francisco makes more manageable. Some of the shots involve their dog, who was an adorable addition to the shoot.

Michael and Laura Shoot at the Oakland Zoo 4.11.10

As always, I shoot rain or shine. For this shoot we had the full use of the Oakland Zoo. Even though it rained, we were able to keep dry for the most part getting the shots we needed. I love the railroad tracks at the Oakland Zoo, and as with my last shoot the train came just as we were taking the photos. I added a little motion blur to the train, but there was some natural blur as the train was moving. Special thanks to Toni from the Oakland Zoo for being such a wonderful guide and flash holder.

Angeline and Sebastian Wedding (part 2)

This is the portrait session I did for Angeline and Sebastian’s wedding. Their dog, Mariposa, is a huge part of their life and they insisted on getting her for the shoot. I loved the idea of using their pet in the photos, but wanted to do something unusual and fun. These are the results of inserting this dressed up wedding couple and their dog in one of the busiest parts of the city. I absolutely love taking photos in North Beach. I loved every minute of this shoot. They are truly a great couple, and I am really glad I was part of their special day.

Hila and Toby’s Wedding 6.19.9

Toby and Hilla’s wedding was absolutely fantastic, and a great pleasure to shoot. Everything went smooth, the setting was gorgeous, the live music and the food were superb. Nestledown is one of the most stunning venues I’ve shot at, Brooke and her staff were awesome. Leo Brasil (usagoiania (at) hotmail.com) played some great music during the reception, and also provided the soundtrack for the slideshow. Continental Catering , was also fantastic and Michael did a great job. There are more images on the way, as well as an album.
