This week I shot a really nice Japanese restaurant, Umami, over in the Marina.  I am not an expert at shooting spaces, but this one being about the 12th location I’ve shot this year, I am getting a hang of it. The interior is a combination of various concepts from contemporary and traditional Japanese styles. I enjoyed shooting the restaurant, since it has many interesting angles, and layers.  I took about 20 good shots of the space, and here are a few of the ones I liked best.

I had an opportunity to shoot the 40th anniversarry event for the Leakey Foundation. Leakey Foundation provides funding for various primate studies. Jane Goodall was the guest of honor, and I had the opportunity to spend some time photographing her.  One of the best photos was in the begining of the night at the Hearbst Theater, when everyone in the audience put a chimp mask in front of their faces.

Around this time of the year I get booked for many great fundraisers around the city.  This event featured a silent auction for mirrors designed by different artists.  Very creative work.  The Imagine Bus Project helps disadvantaged kids through art programs. I got a few interior gigs lined up this month. I finished up one assignment of a very unique new spot in San Francisco. It has a maritime charm, drinks with absinthe and private liqour lockers. Designer’s name is Lauren Geremia who was on site to make the place look perfect.

Very cool fundraiser for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I’ve worked with this organization in the past on half a dozen events, including last year’s fashion show(SF Chronicle).  This year Charleston Pierce was nominated for Man of the Year award. The models were from Stars Agency and there was amazing talent all around. Here are some pics:
