Sheena and William’s Engagement Session

Had a great shoot with Sheena and William last week. They are high school sweethearts that have been in love since they first met. For this shoot we picked the Mission District in San Francisco for its vibrant street art and urban feel. I haven’t done too many shoots in this neighborhood, and I love the experience of getting to know a new neighborhood from behind the lens. The shoot ended with some great Ethiopian food. After the shoot I got a heart warming email from the couple, here is an excerpt:

“…For our engagement shoot, you took us to the city. It was cold, and we have never been there before. We walked around, and you would stop and see something that my fiance and I didn’t quite see. I look at the photos you have sent us, and it took my breath away. The moment you captured, what you saw, how you saw us! It was far more beautiful than what we thought we were doing. Looking at your photos you made us realize how much we love one another, and how it really shows.” -Sheena and William

Holly and Ian’s Engagement Shoot

Holly and Ian are this cute couple that found me on Google. They were getting married in a few weeks and wanted some fun creative shots around the city. We had a great time in Golden Gate Park, China Town, and North Beach. Afterward we went to grab some dinner and had the idea of going ice-skating. If they weren’t such a nice couple I probably would have left once we go to the rink, since it was freezing cold and the line was around the block. It didn’t take much to convince myself to stay, and I am glad I did. Here are some highlights from this 6 hour shoot.

Erica and Alex Engagement Session – Santa Rosa 6.27.10

Erica and Alex are a recently engaged couple that I met through a mutual friend. Erica who works at the Paradise Winery in Santa Rosa, had great access to the property on a Sunday afternoon. The sculpture garden at the winery had some amazing installations that rotate throughout the year. Alex and Erica are an easygoing couple, which is reflected in the photographs. The winery itself sits atop of a hill overlooking the valley, allowing for some spectacular sunsets. In fact every Wednesday they do a “Wine and Sunsets” event open to the public. I might just have to take a trip back to check out the event.

Matt’s wedding proposal to Meghan 5.24.9

I woke up at 8am this Sunday morning in order to capture a wedding proposal. Matt called just two days ago asking me if I am available to shoot, and I was. We communicated via text message in the morning, coordinating logistics of catching up with them at the Palace of Fine Arts. Once I made positive ID, I followed the couple, acting like a regular tourist with a couple of professional cameras, taking shots of PFA and the couple when Meghan was not looking in my direction. While Meghan was taking a photo of the ceiling of the PFA dome, Matt got on one knee behind her and took out the ring. When she turned around she was very surprised. She said yes. Matt introduced us, and the three of us ended up walking around the lake to take a few engagement snaps. They met up with family in the Marina. I am glad it worked out the way Matt intended, and very happy to provide them with some great images to treasure.

Sample Wedding Album

Although its best to see and feel the album, I think some photos will be nice to show what one looks like. This album is from Stephan’s and Lindsay’s wedding from May, 08. This album is leather bound, heavy and beautiful. It is 22 spreads, 44 pages with no cut down the middle. It comes wrapped in recycled pineapple leaves, just gorgeous…

Sarah and Erik’s Shoot 11.22.8

Sarah and Erik are going to make a great addition to my soon to be released wedding website. They are a great couple from Petaluma. Both of them are into fitness, and make quite easy subjects to photograph. In addition to the couple shots, they asked me to take a few fitness shots. I was not sure what fitness shots entailed, but it was not long untill I figured it out. My friend Neela was on hand to hold my lights and make sure that the camera gear did not get wet. Also, notice the logo on the images. Created for me by a friend, Nadia, who updates her blog a lot more often than I do.

Gerome and Lindsay E-session August 2007

This couple turned out to be pretty fun as they warmed up to my unobtrusive style of shooting. Initialy I had to give them specific instructions on how to pose, and I had to remind them to be patient. After making a wine pitstop at a North Beach coffee shop things got a lot better. Here is the first batch from the day.
