San Francisco Wedding Photographer|Destination Wedding Photographer » Winery http://www.genekosoy.com Gene Kosoy Photography Tue, 07 Feb 2012 15:21:20 +0000 en hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.3 Marjorie and Dan’s Engagement Session 3.21.10 http://www.genekosoy.com/napa-valley-engagement-session-3-21-10/ http://www.genekosoy.com/napa-valley-engagement-session-3-21-10/#comments Thu, 25 Mar 2010 18:38:33 +0000 genekosoy http://www.genekosoy.com/?p=599 For this engagement session we decided to go up to one of Napa Valley’s finest restaurants.  Brix is located a mile north of Yountville.  This great location features private dining inside their wine room, outdoor dining and a few other private rooms as well as conventional seating.  They were a very laid back couple, and having shot her sister’s wedding Marjorie and Dan felt comfortable with me and let me take charge of the shoot.  In addition to setting up the shots to capture the beauty of the property and the surroundings, I also paid close attention to the couple’s  interaction in order to capture feeling and emotion, in addition to getting beautiful photos.   In addition to getting great shots through out the day, we got to enjoy everything Brix had to offer: great food, great views and great wine.  The restaurant has a very nice patio with a great view of the mountain, a vineyard and the Napa Valley Train tracks.  Another nice thing about Brix, is that in addition to wedding receptions they can do also facilitate wedding ceremonies as well. This is not so standard in Napa.  Overall we had a great experience shooting, and the photos are a byproduct of our stay on the premises. In addition to recommending Brix to my wedding clients, I recommend it to my friends as well.

It turned out to be for magazine advertisements for a Napa high-end clothing store, Mario’s. The models were the owner, his son, and the 3 founders of the multi-billion wine enterprise known as Sutter Home Winery. The shoot took place at the Trinchero winery, which is closed to the public and their most upscale brand, I believe. The theme was from rags to riches, however I think that for these guys it was not ever rags….
