Matt’s wedding proposal to Meghan 5.24.9

I woke up at 8am this Sunday morning in order to capture a wedding proposal. Matt called just two days ago asking me if I am available to shoot, and I was. We communicated via text message in the morning, coordinating logistics of catching up with them at the Palace of Fine Arts. Once I made positive ID, I followed the couple, acting like a regular tourist with a couple of professional cameras, taking shots of PFA and the couple when Meghan was not looking in my direction. While Meghan was taking a photo of the ceiling of the PFA dome, Matt got on one knee behind her and took out the ring. When she turned around she was very surprised. She said yes. Matt introduced us, and the three of us ended up walking around the lake to take a few engagement snaps. They met up with family in the Marina. I am glad it worked out the way Matt intended, and very happy to provide them with some great images to treasure.

Sarah and Erik’s Shoot 11.22.8

Sarah and Erik are going to make a great addition to my soon to be released wedding website. They are a great couple from Petaluma. Both of them are into fitness, and make quite easy subjects to photograph. In addition to the couple shots, they asked me to take a few fitness shots. I was not sure what fitness shots entailed, but it was not long untill I figured it out. My friend Neela was on hand to hold my lights and make sure that the camera gear did not get wet. Also, notice the logo on the images. Created for me by a friend, Nadia, who updates her blog a lot more often than I do.

Aventine in San Francisco

I got a few interior gigs lined up this month. I finished up one assignment of a very unique new spot in San Francisco. It has a maritime charm, drinks with absinthe and private liqour lockers. Designer’s name is Lauren Geremia who was on site to make the place look perfect.

Spanish Conqueror

My very good friend Debi Tonge got a comission piece from a guy named John who wanted a canvas painting of himself as a Spanish conqueror. As odd as this sounds, it is actually very cool for someone to go out of their way to comission such amazing art these days. Debs asked me to help her photograph John at my studio, and somehow she actually managed to get an authentic outfit for him. My job was very easy, Debs on the other hand had to spend over 50 hours on the actual painting. What I think is most amazing is the acuracy between what John looks like and how Debi painted him, here is the final painting and one of the photos I took. Coachella 2008

What a great experience to go shoot at Coachella as well as party with friends. We went to the actual festival only 2 of the 3 days we were in Indio. Saturday was spent at the Anthem Magazine pool party named “La fiesta de fiestas”. What an experience, they had free flowing booze, food, girls and a donkey. There are two galleries for this one, Coachella photos and Anthem Magazine La Fiesta de fiestas pool party. Enjoy!

Eternal Spring Fashion Show

My friend hooked me up with Nika who put together the Eternal Spring fashion show at SomArts space. I wasn’t going to go all out, but when the show strated I was ready to go, with my friend Matt shooting from the front of the stage. I decided to take the back, facing the spectators. Pinup Calendar Project

So, its been a while since I updated my blog even though I’ve been involved in a few affairs. This particular project I am doing the photoshop work only with the images shot by a different photographer. The idea behind the calendar is to combine photographic images with painted scenes to create a modern pinup look. The backgrounds were painted by my good friend Debi Tounge, These are not finished quite yet, but pretty close to the final product. The photographer used a green screen and I just combined the images in PS. It turned out to be a lot of work to make the final image look believable and not like a cardboard cut out. I have a few more to go, but that will be after I get back from India.

Another Shoot with Pamela Carter

Ok, so I have not written for a while, that’s because I’ve been doing shoots and getting down with photoshop. I had another shoot with Pamela, this time with a make up artist at the Rock-it Room in San Francisco. The owner of the venue is a cool guy named Marco, and he was nice enough to let us do a professional photo shoot at his venue. The make up artist, Lauren Warner is awesome, and I had the pleasure of working with her on the Mouth to Mouth Shoot a year ago. For this shoot we went with the more rock and roll approach and so far in the post, its looking like what’s intended. Here are a few shots:
